2025 Mazda CX-80 price and specs: Seven-seat SUV undercuts CX-60

[ad_1]

Mazda Australia appears to be making a volume play with its latest Large Architecture-based SUV.

The 2025 Mazda CX-80 is priced from $54,950 before on-road costs, undercutting its two-row CX-60 sibling despite being longer and packing an extra row of seating.

Unlike any other SUV on this platform, the CX-80 is being offered in a more affordable Pure trim level. This means it offers the widest range of any Large Architecture-based Mazda in Australia.

The Pure undercuts the cheapest CX-60 – the G40e Evolve – by $5600, though it’s still around $12,000 more than the cheapest member of the outgoing CX-8 range and around $7000 more than the cheapest member of the defunct CX-9 line.

The Pure is offered only with petrol power, while the Touring, GT and Azami – as in the CX-60 – are each being offered with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The CX-80 range is now on sale across Mazda Australia’s dealer network, with the first deliveries beginning later this month.

For those struggling to keep track of Mazda’s sprawling SUV lineup, there are four vehicles on the new Large Architecture.

The two-row CX-60 and three-row CX-80 are slightly narrower and aimed at markets like Japan and Europe. The two-row CX-70 and three-row CX-90 are wider and were developed with the North American market in mind.

Australia is unique in getting all four.

While the three-row CX-80’s base price undercuts that of the two-row CX-60, it’s the opposite arrangement with the CX-70 and CX-90.

The CX-70 and CX-90 share a body but the CX-80 has both a longer wheelbase and greater overall length figure than the CX-60.
